About the Event
Hailing from the City of Dreaming Spires (Oxford UK), Hard Rock/Metal band Broken Empire emerged in the UK music scene back in 2017 delivering a uniquely energetic and thought provoking style of music, crossing multiple genre boundaries and appealing to every generation of music lovers. Inspired by the likes of Alter Bridge, Five Finger Death Punch and Metallica; the band make it clear at their live shows that they mean business - busting out show stealing performances with riffs that punch harder than a heavyweight boxer, combined with powerful and emotive vocal lines.
Now over 50 energetic and sweat filled gigs later and the best part of 200,000 streams; Broken Empire have made headline slots, played some of the best local festivals around, and supported some top new generation of rock bands such as Ryder's Creed, From Inside, Stormbringer and The Fallen State. The band recorded and released their self-titled Debut EP in the Spring of 2018 to a strong reception and within a couple of weeks the songs were in rotation on a number of online radio stations and Spotify playlists. This was followed up in April 2019 with the release of Fractures. The EP has amassed over 60,000 Spotify plays since its release and gained great reviews with Metallum Sub Terra giving it a 9/10 and Rock Media UK a 4/5.
Wasting no time at all, the band released their 3rd EP, Parasite in November 2019. The EP proved a big bit among fans and critics alike - Moshville Times said "Four quality tracks of hard rock" and Independent Music Showcase giving it a 10/10. This was followed up with the bands first attempt at giving a well known song their own spin, which was released in the form of the bands re-invention of the hit Bruno Mar's track, 'Locked Out of Heaven'. With the world entering a tough pandemic early 2020, it meant gigs were off and the whole music scene had to evolve. This gave the band the opportunity to get straight to work on their fourth EP, mixed and mastered in Italy and set to deliver the most evocative and mature record in the band's fledgling history.
